Sometimes we all need to discover a new place in our own backyard. This is what happen to me recently. I had heard that the Honeysuckle Tea House opened this summer, but hadn’t ventured down Jo Mac Road in a long time. Lucky for me, it was it the last week of summer. My girls and I were trying to prolong time. We thought about our summer bucket list and realized it was time to discover the Honeysuckle Tea House.
The first time we went (I stressed the first) was to celebrate my older daughter’s birthday with a friend.
Off on a beautiful rural road (Bethal Hickory Church Road to Jo Mac Road) is a true oasis. Pulling in I was really speechless.
Overlooking a beautiful farm, sits a tea house.
And yes storage containers are incorporated into the tea house.
So many different features for one to relax.
All the various herbs are labeled.
As a family, we have enjoyed several Friday nights, listening to the different live performers, drinking tea and even snacking on gluten free treats!
(Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie – my daughter has a new favorite!)
For a special treat beyond tea – how about Kombucha, Vegan Soup, Coffee, Herbal Sodas, Baked Goods (vegan and gluten free options) and Raw Herbal Chocolate?
And did I mention the Smoothies?
Summer Berry and Wake Up Call Smoothies (Gluten Free)
Looking for a locally-made gift?
(Iced Tea and a perfect housewarming gift of Smoked black tea salt)
The Honeysuckle Tea House offers different educational opportunities as well. As a matter of fact, as I sit and write this (at the tea house) my oldest daughter is off at a young herbalist course.
