It’s shaping up to be a gorgeous weekend in our local area! Here are some fun activities to consider when making your weekend plans:
The 5th annual Super Cooper’s Rockin’ Run and Family Fun Festival is Saturday, September 20th starting at 2:00. There will be food trucks and activities on the village green at Southern Village, along with a 5K, a family bike race, a performance by the Bouncing Bulldogs, and even a mechanical bull! All proceeds go to provide housing and support services to families fighting childhood cancer.
The 26th annual Sculpture in the Garden exhibit begins Sunday, September 21st at the NC Botanical Garden. It’s always a wonderful exhibit of beautiful and interesting sculptures in a gorgeous setting. A special preview party, where you can meet the artists and enjoy food and drinks, is scheduled for September 20th from 4:30-7:00. (Tickets for the preview party are available at this link; the exhibit is free and open to the public beginning Sunday.)
Saturday is The People’s Peppers day at the Carrboro Farmers’ Market. Stop by to celebrate our local peppers; there will be cooking demonstrations, pepper tastings, live music and raffle prizes.
