It’s going to be a beautiful fall weekend in central NC! A great time to be out and about enjoying these local events:
It’s a great weekend for live music! The Wide Open Bluegrass Street Festival starts Friday at noon in downtown Raleigh. This is a free event, with more than 85 bands, a dance tent, local art, food and drinks and much more. This is part of the IBMA Wide Open Bluegrass Festival which features even more music at ticketed events.
The Festifall Arts Festival is this Sunday, October 5th from 12-6 on West Franklin Street. This is Chapel Hill’s annual arts celebration, with a wide variety of performers and activities, including an extensive handmade artist market.
The annual PepperFest at Briar Chapel in Chapel Hill is also on Sunday, October 5th from 3-7. An Abundance, NC event, this family friendly festival celebrates local peppers with music, activities, a kid zone and plenty of pepper-inspired food.
The Orange Literacy Council is celebrating their 30th anniversary with an ice cream social on Sunday from 2-4 at the Carrboro Town Commons. There will also be music and storytelling at this fun event.
Enjoy your weekend, and remember to keep it local!
